Canada’s Richard Reid on Zingara wins the 2022 Melges 24 Grand Traverse Invitational regatta over Chelsea Simms’ Straightarrow in second and Fred Rozelle’s Rustler in third.

The final two of three events on the West Coast Championship Series have officially opened their registration portals. The Fiesta Cup takes place on July 22-23 hosted by the Santa Barbara YC, and the California Cup/West Coast Championship happens on September 10-11 in Santa Cruz.

Get ready for exciting Melges 24 racing on Pensacola Bay this fall. The Pensacola Yacht Club and the U.S. Melges 24 Class Association will bring on three fall regattas within two weeks of each other that offer M24 class one-design racing at its finest.

Online registration is now open for the 2022 U.S. Melges 24 National Championship, hosted by Pensacola Yacht Club in Pensacola, FL on November 10-13. Being held in conjunction with PYC’s Bushwhacker Cup, three days of some of the best world-class sailing is scheduled.

The 2022 U.S. Melges 24 Class' National Ranking Series (NRS) concluded its fifth of nine events this past weekend at the Bayview Regatta in Detroit, MI. Flying high on the charts since Charleston Race Week, Travis Weisleder at the helm of Lucky Dog has a small, but comfortable lead ahead of 2022 World Champion Peter Duncan sailing Raza Mixta currently in second place.

Two of five events on the 2022 Quantum Melges 24 Great Lakes Cup Series are complete with Canada’s Mike Gozzard at the helm of Rush in the overall lead.

Online registration for the Columbia Gorge One Design Regatta hosted by the Columbia Gorge Racing Association is now open. The event takes place on July 29-31 in Cascade Locks, OR and is also designated as the 2022 Melges 24 Pacific Northwest Championship.

It is with a heavy heart that the U.S. Melges 24 Class has learned of the passing of fellow sailor Hayden Goodrick. Hayden was very much a part of the Melges 24 family and we are saddened by this sudden, heartbreaking news.

Online registration for the Bayview One Design Regatta is now available. Earmarked as the second event on the 2022 Quantum Melges 24 Great Lake Cup circuit and the fifth on the U.S. Melges 24 Class National Ranking Series, the Bayview event is going to be a blast.

This forthcoming weekend, the 2022 Quantum Great Lakes Cup kicks off with 15 Melges 24 teams ready to go for the trophy. The five-part regatta Series is a major wind up in the Midwest as it marks the official start for the spring and summer racing season.

Peter Duncan is the 2022 Melges 24 World Champion with tactician Victor Diaz de Leon, and crew Erik Shampain, Matt Pistay and Morgan Trubovich racing Raza Mixta. Duncan was followed by Harry Melges IV on Zenda Express in second place and Bruce Ayres’ Monsoon in third. Niccolo Bertola at the helm of Taki 4 took home his 4th consecutive Corinthian World Championship title with Giacomo Fossati, Giovanni Bannetta, Pietro Seghezza and Marco Zammarchi as crew.

Day Four at the Melges 24 Worlds hosted by Lauderdale Yacht Club in Florida, U.S., was tricky and challenging both to sailors and Race Committee, shuffling the cards in top rankings. Thirty-one teams from five nations got two races posted to the scoreboard seeing Peter Duncan’s Raza Mixta (USA, 3-3) taking overall lead from Bora Gulari’s New England Ropes.

For the strong Melges 24 World Championship fleet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, it was a bit challenging day on the water since the wind was reluctant to put in a proper appearance in the morning making the fleet wait for more than an hour increasing then up to 8 knots from South-East to get the first race started.

The second day of racing at 2022 Melges 24 World, hosted by Lauderdale Yacht Club (LYC) in Fort Lauderdale, delivered three excellent races sailed in bright sunshine and North-East winds of fourteen knots average.

Thirty-one Melges teams raced on a thrilling racecourse on Atlantic Ocean off Fort Lauderdale today, putting three races on the official scoreboard at the 2022 Melges 24 World Championship, hosted by Lauderdale Yacht Club (LYC). In the ultra-competitive Melges 24 fleet, to no one's surprise Bora Gulari on New England Rope (USA, 4-1-2 today) is in first, Harry Melges IV is second racing Zenda Express (USA, 1-5-5) and in third, Laura Grondin on Dark Energy (USA, 6-2-10).

With several days of pre-regatta registration, boat and sails inspection at Pier Sixty-Six now completed and first practice races sailed, on the eve of the official start of racing, all thirty-one boats competing at the 2022 Melges 24 World Championship in Fort Lauderdale, FL, U.S, are moored in the docks of Lauderdale Yacht Club, where this evening at six o'clock will be regatta's Opening Ceremony.
