Richard Reid Captures 2022 Melges 24 Grand Traverse Invitational Trophy
Everyone knows Traverse City puts on a heck of a Melges 24 show. Great racing, friends and race management by the Grand Traverse Yacht Club is spectacular — the onshore festivities are second-to-none! In 2022, the GT Invite was the seventh of nine National Ranking Series events. Taking the trophy home was Canada’s Richard Reid on Zingara.
Two days of racing produced perfect competitive conditions with Reid winning 6 out of 7 races. Chelsea Simms’ Straightarrow finished second place over Fred Rozelle’s Rustler in third.
