EIGHT BELLS TOLL FOR 'THE BOB'
It is with heavy hearts that the US Melges 24 Class shares the news of the sudden passing of Bob Clark, a lifelong sailor, a legendary Corinthian crew member and beloved Melges 24 Class competitor, multi-national champion and beloved friend. Bob was a big part of the Melges 24 Class from the very beginning as the proud owner of #13 Snow Pile Express. He was also a steady and trusted crew member on Mike Dow’s Flying Toaster, and most recently a key part of the 2025 Charleston Race Week Corinthian Champion team Bad Idea, owned by Scot Zimmerman.

The 2025 Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series in Detroit delivered classic racing conditions, and the Melges 24 fleet made the most of it. Hosted by Bayview Yacht Club, the two-day regatta saw 12 teams complete seven high-energy races in sportboat paradise. With a crisp northerly breeze and rolling freshwater waves on Lake St. Clair, it was fast, tactical sailing from start to finish.

GRONDIN'S DARK ENERGY DOMINATES IN RIVA DEL GARDA
American talent made a bold statement at the third act of the 2025 Melges 24 European Sailing Series in Riva del Garda, as Laura Grondin at the helm of Dark Energy surged to an emphatic overall victory. Facing a deeply talented international fleet, Grondin and her team, composed of tactician Taylor Canfield, alongside Ian Liberty, Mac Agnese and Nick Ford delivered a powerful performance — one that saw them take control of the regatta on Day Two and never look back.
