North American Sailing Series Looks Ahead to the Melges 24 Space Coast Cup

With the Bushwhacker Cup no longer taking place this season, attention now turns to the Melges 24 Space Coast Cup, December 11–13, 2026, at the Melges Watersports Center in Florida. The newest addition to the North American Sailing Series is already generating enthusiasm, with 13 boats currently registered and anticipation building for a great weekend of racing at an exciting new destination. In preparation for the inaugural event, Melges Performance Sailboats recently hosted a brief online regatta planning session designed to introduce competitors to the venue and provide helpful insights into what to expect. Led by Allan Terhune, the 15-minute discussion covered everything from local logistics and accommodations to the Port Canaveral Yacht Club, potential racing areas, and navigating the unique surroundings of Port Canaveral.

For teams planning to attend, the recorded session provides an excellent introduction to the venue and an opportunity to get familiar with the area before arriving in December.

With a growing entry list, a new racing venue, and another opportunity to enjoy competitive Melges 24 sailing, the Space Coast Cup promises to be an exciting addition to the class calendar and a great way to close out the 2026 racing season.
