New Melges 24 Event Announced: Epic Racing in Newport, RI Coming in 2026
Get ready for three days of high-caliber racing in one of the most iconic sailing destinations in the world—Newport, Rhode Island. This new event joins the ranks of the largest one-design regattas in the country, offering both “inside” flat-water sailing on Narragansett Bay and “outside” ocean challenges in Rhode Island Sound. Hosted at the world-class Sail Newport facility, participants can expect excellent dockage, hoists, and marine services—all in the heart of a true sailor’s town.
Between racing and training opportunities, sailors can make the most of Newport’s vibrant sailing scene, from the Clarke Cooke House to the IYAC. Upcoming Melges 24 training blocks and races throughout June and July make this the perfect lead-up to Nationals and Worlds later in the season.
