Lake Tahoe Awaits: Melges 24 Fleet Returns July 10–12
One of the most scenic events on the 2026 U.S. Melges 24 calendar returns July 10–12 as the Tahoe Yacht Club welcomes the Melges 24 fleet back to beautiful Lake Tahoe for the Tahoe One Design Invitational.
Open to the Melges 24 and Moore 24 classes, the regatta features a full weekend of racing and shoreside camaraderie:
• Friday, July 10: Buoy Races
• Saturday, July 11: Distance Race and Saturday Night BBQ & Awards
• Sunday, July 12: Buoy Races followed by Class Awards
Boats entered in the regatta are automatically entered in the Trans Tahoe Regatta, complete with dedicated one-design starts and scoring. In total, competitors can expect up to nine races over the three-day event.
Lake Tahoe's renowned southwest thermal breeze typically builds to 10–20 knots each afternoon before easing into the evening, creating outstanding racing conditions on some of the clearest freshwater you'll ever sail. Combined with the breathtaking Sierra Nevada backdrop and the camaraderie that made last year's inaugural Melges 24 gathering such a success, the Tahoe One Design Invitational promises another unforgettable weekend on the water.
