Amendment Issued to 2026 Melges 24 Quantum Great Lakes Cup Notice of Series
An amendment has been issued to the 2026 Melges 24 Quantum Great Lakes Cup Notice of Series, reducing the number of circuit from six events to five following the removal of the Sarnia Regatta from the schedule.
The change simplifies the event lineup while maintaining a strong slate of regattas across the Great Lakes region for the 2026 season. Competitors will now count results across five events as they pursue the overall Quantum Melges 24 Great Lakes Cup title.
The first opportunity for teams to begin their series campaign will be the Melges 24 Spring Championship, hosted by the Muskegon Yacht Club from May 15–17, 2026 in Muskegon, Michigan. Register Now. Teams are encouraged to secure their place on the starting line as the early-season regatta approaches.
Interest in the Spring Championship is already building, with 10 teams currently entered. With the Great Lakes fleet expected to gather in full force for the start, it will once again serve as the early proving ground for programs looking to establish momentum toward the overall Great Lakes Cup standings.
Registration for several of the 2026 Quantum Great Lakes Cup events is already available, and teams planning to compete in the series are encouraged to review the updated Notice of Series and begin confirming their participation. They are as follows:
Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series, Detroit
U.S. National Championship
Pre-Worlds - Save The Date (Registration Coming Soon)
Harbor Springs World Championship
As the season’s momentum builds, the Great Lakes circuit remains one of the most active regional programs in the U.S. Melges 24 Class, bringing together established teams and new programs alike for a summer of competitive one-design racing.
