Midwinter's Free Melges 24 Clinic Hosted by Team Gamecock in Partnership with Quantum
All teams planning to race in St. Petersburg for the opening event of the 2026 Sailing World Regatta Series are invited to kick off their week with a free Melges 24 Clinic, hosted by Team Gamecock in partnership with Quantum Sails. Designed to organize the fleet, sharpen fundamentals, and elevate on-the-water performance, the clinic is open to all competing teams—whether you’re launching a new program or fine-tuning an established one.
The Wednesday clinic will be led by Quantum Sails professional sailors and coaches Dave Gerber, Carter Cameron, and Scott Nixon, alongside 2025 North American Sailing Series champion Peter McClennen. Teams can expect practical, race-course-focused coaching centered on boat handling, rig tuning, communication, and decision-making—everything needed to get the most out of a Melges 24 on Tampa Bay. This is an ideal opportunity to kick off the Midwinter Championship with structured practice, shared learning, and direct access to some of the class’s most experienced voices in a collaborative, fleet-building environment.
On Thursday, expect a collective practice session with Sailing World Regatta Series St. Pete’s presented by Quantum Sails, and an afternoon dockside debrief with Team Gamecock and fellow competitors.
