Morris' Dark Horse Leads Bacardi Winter Series Ranking

With just over two weeks until the start of the Bacardi Invitational Regatta for the Melges 24 Class—the grand finale of the Winter Series—the racing is more intense than ever. After two events, Cuyler Morris' Dark Horse leads the overall standings with 26 points, closely followed by Canada’s Richard Reid at the helm of Zingara with 24 points. Newly crowned 2025 Midwinter Champion Peter McClennen, racing Gamecock, sits third overall with 21 points.

The Corinthian division is equally competitive, with 10 of the 20 teams in the standings actively vying for the all-amateur trophy. Jaime Torres’ Smile and Wave currently leads the category, with Great Britain’s Stuart Simpson on Team Barbarians in second and Canada’s Dan Berezin, racing Surprise, rounding out the podium.

The final showdown in Miami, set for March 5-8, will determine both the overall and Corinthian series champions in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 Bacardi Winter Series.
