Melges 24 Class Rules 2022 Published by World Sailing
April 23, 2022 - After a long process of reviewing the proposals to amend the Melges 24 Class Rules submitted by the World Council of the International Melges 24 Class Association, World Sailing has approved changes to the Melges 24 Class Rules and has published them on April 19. A new edition of the Melges 24 Class Rules 2022 comes into effect immediately.
Please note that changes required to the 2021 Melges 24 Class Rules to allow Selden Masts UK to be able to be approved as a licensed builder and supplier of spars for the Melges 24, were withdrawn by the IM24CA after Selden reluctantly advised they were unable to continue developing a new mast due to overwhelming worldwide supply and demand issues. As much effort has been taken to create a mast that is competitive and comparable to those currently used, Melges Performance Sailboats moved forward and has recently acquired the tooling assets and rights to build the original Southern Spar.
Please note that the final changes to the class rules for 2022 are listed in the World Sailing document 2022 Class Rule Changes Melges 24.
