Looper Sweeps the West Coast Championship

(Belvedere Tiburon, CA USA -August 19, 2019) - The 2019 Melges 24 West Coast Championship took place on August 16-18 and Duane Yoslov, Looper, took home first place for the Melges 24 fleet. The weekend brought breezy conditions and temperatures in the low seventies with after racing beer and snacks. 

After seven races, Duane Yoslov at the helm of Looper swept the competition with a string of first-place finishes. Following in second was Kent Pierce’s Average White Boat. Tom Greethham’s Distraction finished the event in third with Doulglas Wilhelm’s Wilco and Sallie Lang’s Interceptor rounding out the top five.

The West Coast Championship was event No. 2 of the West Coast Championship Series. The California Cup, Event No. 3 of the West Coast Championship will take place next month (September 13 - 15) and wrap up the series for this racing year.
