Save The Date: 2020 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship, 15-18 October
The USM24CA is thrilled to announce that the 2020 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship will be hosted by the Tred Avon Yacht Club in Oxford, Maryland on October 15-18. Three days of top-notch Championship racing is being planned.
“Our Race Committee and Board of Governors are extremely excited for the opportunity to host the 2020 Melges 24 National Championship,” says Ed Cassidy, Tred Avon Yacht Club Commodore. “We’re also immensely pleased at the opportunity to bring the Melges 24 fleet to one of the world’s most widely acclaimed sailing venues for the first time in its long and illustrious history.”
October typically holds the best sailing conditions on the Choptank River and in Oxford with winds between 10-15 knots, gusting to 20. The water is super flat and allows for very fast sailing upwind and downwind.
The Notice of Race (NOR) and online registration are currently in progress and will be available shortly.
Until then, all Melges 24 teams worldwide are asked to save these dates and stay close to the U.S. Melges 24 Class Association website: usmelges24.com.
