CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: U.S. MELGES 24 CLASS ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2017-19, PROPOSED RULE CHANGE SUBMISSIONS

The U.S. Melges 24 Class Association (USMCA) is now seeking nominations for the positions for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The next two-year term begins on January 1, 2018.

The Call for Nominations will close on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 5 o’clock PM PAC (8 P.M. EDT | 7 P.M. CDT).

All nominees shall be Melges 24 Owners that are current 2017 Class Members.

Here are the positions that the USMCA is actively accepting nominations for:

PRESIDENT
Current USMCA President Steve Boho will not be seeking another term, therefore this position is completely vacant.
USMCA President - Shall represent the USMCA at all IMCA meetings and serve as provided for in the IMCA constitution. Coordinate the efforts of all members of the Executive Committee and the District Governors. Provide guidance and support for selecting, managing, conducting and organizing National and World Ranking Events. Exercise any other authority and power delegated by the Board of Governors from time to time. Serve as Chair of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee.

VICE PRESIDENT
Current USMCA Vice President George Haynie is the incumbent.
USMCA Vice President - Shall officiate in the absence of the USMCA President, generally assist the USMCA President in the performance of his or her duties and serve as the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee.

SECRETARY
Current USMCA Secretary Kevin Clark is the incumbent.
Secretary - Shall be responsible for the minutes at the USM24CA, Board of Governors and Executive Committee meetings and shall hold the official records. Shall coordinate the organization of the class including distributing and receiving official paperwork and shall work with the President in the day to day running of the class.

TREASURER
Current USMCA Treasurer Krak Arntson will not be seeking another term, therefore this position is completely vacant.
Treasurer - Shall be responsible for the funds and expenses of the USMCA, shall keep accurate records of the financial affairs of the USM24CA and shall make disbursements as the Executive Committee may direct. Responsible for preparing all financial statements for the Class.

If any Melges 24 Owner (a current member of the USMCA) would like to submit proposed Rule Changes, the deadline for such submissions is Monday, July 31, 2017. Proposed Rule Changes shall be submitted using the below format, otherwise they will not be accepted.

A group conference call to discuss the proposed rule changes will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 9 p.m. EST, if deemed necessary by the USMCA Executive Committee. All active, full members will be sent an email if the conference call will be held.

Voting shall occur the second full week of August. Only active, full members may hold office or vote.
