BACARDI MIAMI SAILING WEEK 2017 REGISTRATION OPEN FOR MELGES 24S

The next best thing to the amazing racing experienced at the Worlds earlier this month is Miami in March — big breeze, flat water and enough runway to light up a downwind leg like a Christmas Tree! To be more specific — we’re talking about Bacardi Miami Sailing Week (BMSW) happening on March 9-11, 2017 (Thursday-Saturday race days).

By popular demand, the USM24CA is ready to welcome teams to BMSW, but we need you to register ASAP so we can get our start! The event organizers have invited the Class and standing by with open arms (and plenty of rum) to welcome the Melges 24s if we can get enough boats committed and registered.

What makes this event ideal? Well, for starters many of the boats that raced Worlds are still in Miami itching to do this event. The sailing conditions during March are epic making for good times on the race course, followed by rum parties at the end of each day. It’s also the perfect opportunity to shake off any post-holiday rust and get ready for Nationals on April 7-9 in Charleston, SC. Biscayne Bay is also makes for the perfect warm-up because of its similar Charleston Harbor dynamics.

Miami boasts some of the best sailing conditions in the USA, massive event sponsored rum and dinner parties, additional/alternative Coconut Grove dining, nightlife and entertaining, affordable and convenient lodging, easy access to and from Miami airport, etc. Everything is virtually within walking distance of the docks, dinner and the event rum tent.

We think it’s a no-brainer.

Some of you have responded that you simply LOVE this event and want to participate!

Online Registration is now open for Melges 24s, so do it today! Game on!
