MCMILLAN (OPEN) & STAMPER (CORINTHIAN) WIN CANADIAN NATIONALS
The 2024 Melges 24 Canadian National Championship concluded after three great days of racing, from Friday, September 20th to Sunday, September 22nd, hosted by the West Vancouver Yacht Club.
Following the Melges 24 World Championship held last month in San Francisco, CA this west coast event attracted top competitors, solidifying its importance in the 2024 North American Sailing Series.
Congratulations go to Fraser McMillan and The Rodent crew—Robert Wissenz, Ford Shannon, Alex Levkovskiy, and Grace Poole—on their big championship victory. They are 2024 Melges 24 Canadian National Champions!
The 2024 Corinthian Canadian National Champion, Duncan Stamper, helming Goes to Eleven with crew Mark Malleson, Steve Isbister, Keith Provan, and Elliot Pierce, finished second overall. Ian Sloan, helming Big Energy, the only U.S. participant, secured third place.
Racing occurred on the scenic waters of Howe Sound, English Bay, and the Salish Sea. With this exciting conclusion, the momentum is high going into the final 2024 North American Sailing Series event taking place in Pensacola, FL — the Bushwhacker Cup in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Championship (ACC)/Gulf Coast Championship (GCC) on November 8-10.
