Sisk Wins 2022 Southeast Inland Championship

2022 Melges 24 Southeast Inland Champion, Kent Sisk (USA-719, Pulse)

Kent Sisk and team on Pulse, USA-719 took the win at the Southeastern Inland Championship just ahead Steve Pirie and team on Rumbunctious, USA-744 in second. Brent McKenzie and team on Ex Kahn, USA-575 finished in 3rd.

The First Day of racing was cancelled due to consistent wind readings above 25 knots leaving a very eventful day of racing for Sunday. Five races were completed on Sunday in shifty and puffy conditions with winds in the 10-15 knots range for the first three races and in the 18-25 knots range for the last two races.

Clean starts and staying on the lifted tack were important to being successful upwind in the shifty conditions, as well as keeping the boat on a plane and in phase downwind.

A big thanks to Mike MacLeod and the race committee team for doing a great job this weekend. We hope that everyone will join us again next year!
