Counting it Down! Melges 24 US Nationals, August 14-16

The countdown to the 2026 U.S. National Championship is officially on.

From August 14–16, the Melges 24 fleet will gather in Traverse City, Michigan, for three days of championship racing hosted by the Grand Traverse Yacht Club. As a key stop on the Quantum Great Lakes Cup circuit and one of the season's premier North American Sailing Series events, Nationals promises a lot of fun, both on and off the water.

If you're planning to race in Traverse City, don't put registration off any longer. We need every team planning to attend to register now so organizers can finalize planning and deliver a first-class event. This special newsletter is dedicated specifically to Nationals and includes everything you need to get ready: registration info, important event documents, key deadlines, Corinthian details, and the latest event insights. Corinthians Qualifiers: Complete Your Declaration Now, Get Cleared to Race Early

Planning to compete in the Corinthian division? Don't wait to complete your Corinthian Crew Declaration for Nationals. The review process can take time, especially if any crew members need to update their World Sailing IDs or renew their Sailor Categorizations. This will need to be completed before your team can be cleared and approved.

To avoid last-minute issues, complete your Declaration as soon as possible. If you are encountering problems with your World Sailing account, classification status, or the online declaration process, don't wait—contact the USM24CA Class Administrator immediately.

The earlier you complete your declaration, the smoother the process will be, leaving you free to focus on preparing for Nationals.

Measure In: Measurement Certificates, Crew List + Mandatory Equipment Forms Required

While there is no formal sail or boat measurement scheduled for this year's U.S. National Championship, all teams are required to have a valid Measurement Certificate, and will also need to complete a Crew List & Weight Declaration and Mandatory Sail & Equipment Declaration ahead of competition. These requirements are designed to help teams become familiar with the documentation process ahead of the Worlds in September, where measurement procedures will be more comprehensive. Download the editable PDF forms using the links below, complete them before the event, and either bring printed copies to registration or email them in advance to the Class Administrator. Completing these forms early will help make registration quick and easy.
